An Orange Toned Eye Makeup Look That Will Get You in the Mood for Fall

Orange Eye Makeup

We were just talking about my transitional outfit for Fall in my last post, so I thought it’d be fun to share my go-to makeup look for this in between season as well.

Orangey tones for makeup are my favorite. I think they’re very flattering – especially on olive or darker skin tones. Sometimes I think gold is a little too bright on me – I feel the orange gives me that fiery look I’m wanting without looking too yellow.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck with orange looks, because it’s totally a Summer color AND a Fall color.  It’s got the sunset vibes that are appropriate for Summer, but also serves to remind me of all the pumpkin themes of Fall! I probably do this look 1-2 times a week during these months.

Morphe X Jaclyn Hill
Colors Used: Rush, Mugshot, Boom, On Camera, Secret, Framed

In My Crease:

Step 1: I mixed the matte colors “Rush” and “Mugshot” together and swiped them in the crease of my eye.

On My Eyelid:

Step 2: I used the shimmery bronze shade “Boom” all across my eyelid.

Tip: When using shimmer shades, pick the eyeshadow up on a makeup brush, then spray the brush with a setting spray before applying to eye. It will make the glitter stick together – making it become one, and the consistency more metallic.

This makes it easier to swipe the shadow across the lid without loose glitter particles falling off the eye or smearing everywhere. Plus – it makes the color shine even more!

Step 3: In the center of my eyelid i dabbed a tiny bit of the color “On Camera” with my finger. I only use a little as I don’t like gold all over the lid, remember? I just wanted a dot of a lighter color in the center to act as a highlight and make it pop.

On My Outer Corner:

Step 4: I took the darker brown color “Secret” and winged out the shadow. Don’t you love how dark browns always tie the whole look together? If you ever feel your shadow is looking too bright or bold, finish the edges with brown – it always grounds the look.

On My Lower Lash Line:

Step 5: I finished up the eye look with the deep plum color “Framed.” I love adding purples or berry colors under my lash because it’s a more interesting twist than a standard brown. I think these types of colors really stand out with brown eyes!

Foundation: Too Faced Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation in Natural Beige
Eyeshadow: Morphe x Jaclyn Hill The Vault Ring the Alarm Eyeshadow Palette
Lips: The Balm Meet Matte Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Honest

Usually I’d automatically pair this eye look with a nude lip, but when I’m feeling fun, I like to put on The Balm Meet Matte Hughes Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Honest.” I get a lot of compliments when I wear this dusty coral color.

Orange Eye Makeup Look

I think it pairs nicely with the orange eyes and gives a nice monochromatic effect. I love combining different tones in the same color family.

You can also wear these orange colors with a dark brown lipstick which gives you such a gorgeous toasty Fall look that I’m obsessed with!
